“To truly transform your body, you need strength training, whether that’s with body weight, free weights, resistance bands, or a combination. You’ll build muscle but also burn fat and reduce your risk of developing osteoporosis.” – Kindal Boyle
Reading this while contemplating using my weights I can’t help but to think that no one in their right mind would want osteoporosis, sickness or any disease for that matter. I definitely don’t and would do whatever it takes to prevent it. Or at least thats what I’m thinking, because I’m going to need a lot of help. Of coarse there are things that are out of our control. If that’s you, I am deeply sorry you’re going through that, and I would love to personally pray with you. You can reach out to me through the prayer tab or pray this prayer with me. (Lord, you hear us and you know every sorrow. You are there with us through it all. May your Glory be known through this season, and your will be done. God, may you heal them and restore their body back to it’s original state you’ve created it to be. In Jesus name, Amen.)
For the majority of us, are we really doing our very best to avoid sickness? Statistics show that more than 1/2 of America is suffering from at least one chronic illness. If we are being honest with each other and ourselves, I think we are just pretty good at avoiding resistance training. Maybe instead, we indulge in food, scroll social media, gossip, you name it. Whatever it is, it’s just something temporary that feels good in the moment, leading us straight to some kind of sickness. Depression, weight gain, etc. Which then just keeps us going down that slope. Right where the enemy wants us. Don’t get me wrong, I love some chips and queso. But queso doesn’t love me back.
Resistance training is uncomfortable, but so is sickness. One leads to life, the other leads to destruction. When we do what we want, when we want, we are saying we don’t need Him. He is a good Father, and loves when we rely on Him. He created us for so much more. There is life to be lived, places to see and people to meet! Temporary discomfort is better than a lifetime of regret. We can resistance train in every area of life. Reading Gods word, eating healthy, attending small groups, working out and so much more!! It leads you to strength. It leads you to discipline. It equips you from getting injured. Let’s get comfortable, being uncomfortable! We can do hard things not because of our own strength, but because of His. I need Him to be able to resist indulging in queso everyday and also to make good life decisions. Our decisions ultimately affect everyone around us in some way.
Charles Spurgeon once said, “Trials teach us what we are. They dig up the soil and let us see what we are made of.” If we don’t practice resistance training, our bones will become weak. If we don’t get in the word, take care of our minds and bodies, we will become weak. We are nothing without Him. We will need Him, and we will need friends. Making sure we stay in a God fearing community can drastically change our lives. Are you ready for trials and tribulations?
If you are in Christ Jesus, take heart. God is with us. Wherever we go!
If you would like to know Jesus as your personal Lord and Savior please reach out to me through the prayer tab and I would be so happy to walk you through that.
Jesus loves you.
